Grading System

Very Fine (VF)

Books graded ‘Very Fine’ are as close to flawless as possible. They are either unread or show no signs of having been read, with no other discernible defects. The grade is essentially equivalent to ‘New’ or ‘Like New’.

Fine (F)

Books graded ‘Fine’ are either unread or show little to no evidence of having been read, but may exhibit a few minor imperfections, such as slight yellowing of the text block, boards or dust jacket. A ‘Fine’ book may, for example, have a ‘Very Fine’ book beneath a dust jacket graded ‘Fine’ or ‘Near Fine’.

Near Fine (NF)

Books graded ‘Near Fine’ are either unread or show little to no evidence of having been read, but exhibit a small number of imperfections that prevent them from qualifying for a ‘Fine’ grade.

Very Good (VG)

Books graded ‘Very Good’ typically show signs of having been read, but only gently. They may exhibit noticeable but relatively minor wear or imperfections to both the book itself and its dust jacket.

Books with lower grade than 'Very Good' are not listed on the website.
